Charlie represents businesses in litigation in the employment, public accommodation, workers’ compensation, premises liability, and general casualty areas. He regularly represents employers in discrimination, wrongful termination, OSHA, and wage and hour claims. He also assists businesses with disability accommodation and workplace safety claims.

Charlie represents both state-fund and self-insured employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims at the administrative level and in Ohio courts. In addition, Charlie has worked with several major trade and business organizations before the Ohio legislature regarding employment and workers’ compensation legislation and regulatory changes.

Charlie is rated by Martindale-Hubbell as AV Preeminent and was selected as an “Ohio Super Lawyer” in the area of employment litigation (defense) by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2012-2015, and 2017.

Ryan represents employers in litigation involving claims of employment discrimination, retaliation, FMLA violations, breach of contract, and wrongful discharge. She also works closely with employers to defend charges filed with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

In addition, Ryan represents employers in workers’ compensation claims before the Industrial Commission and in Ohio courts. Her experience also extends to unemployment compensation claims filed with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Ryan enjoys providing advice to in-house counsel and human resources professionals about issues that arise in the course of the employer-employee relationship. She is honored to have been selected as an “Ohio Super Lawyers – Rising Star” in the area of employment litigation (defense) by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2010 through 2017.
